Los Óscar se celebran este domingo 10 de marzo. ‘Oppenheimer‘, la obra maestra de Christopher Nolan, se alza como la favorita esta noche en la 96 edición de los Premios de la Academia, donde compite en 13 categorías. Otros destacados aspirantes incluyen al español Juan Antonio Bayona, compitiendo por el premio a la Mejor Película Internacional con ‘La sociedad de la nieve‘, y a la talentosa documentalista chilena Maite Alberdi, nominada en la categoría de Mejor Documental por ‘La memoria infinita’.
La película ‘Poor Things’ de Yorgos Lanthimos, con 11 nominaciones, y ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ de Martin Scorsese, con 10, siguen de cerca a ‘Oppenheimer’ en la contienda por los premios.
Emma Stone y Lily Gladstone son las principales contendientes en la categoría de Mejor Actriz, respectivamente por sus roles en ‘Poor Things’ y ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, donde Stone busca su segundo Óscar después de ‘La La Land’ (2016), mientras que Gladstone podría hacer historia como la primera actriz indígena estadounidense en ganar este prestigioso Óscar.
En el ámbito masculino, Murphy parece tener asegurado el Óscar a Mejor Actor, al igual que su compañero en la película, Downey Jr., quien compite como Mejor Actor de Reparto.
Sin embargo, Brad Pitt, también nominado en esta categoría por ‘Barbie’, espera sorprender y conseguir una victoria para compensar las omisiones de nominaciones a Margot Robbie, protagonista de la película, y a su directora, Greta Gerwig.
La noche también será crucial para Juan Antonio Bayona, quien busca el Óscar a la Mejor Película Internacional con ‘La sociedad de la nieve’, basada en la conocida como ‘tragedia de los Andes’. Aunque enfrenta una dura competencia, incluyendo ‘The Zone of Interest’, del británico Jonathan Glazer, y ‘Perfect Days’, del alemán Wim Wenders (aunque compite por Japón).
